New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan told the media on Friday during his press conference that cornerback Darrelle Revis (concussion) and tight end Dustin Keller (hamstring) have been ruled out for the Sunday game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Linebacker Bryan Thomas (hamstring) also was ruled out Friday by Ryan and will not play.
Revis suffered his concussion last week against the Buffalo Bills when linebacker Bart Scott accidentally kicked him in the head as both players were attempting to tackle Bills running back C.J. Spiller. Revis, who was never cleared for physical contact this week, will be replaced in the starting lineup by nickel cornerback Kyle Wilson, who will now start opposite veteran Antonio Cromartie. Either Ellis Lankster or Isaiah Trufant will see the field now as the nickel corner when the Jets utilize their sub-package.
With Thomas out, both Aaron Maybin and Garrett McIntyre are expected to see time at right outside linebacker while Jeff Cumberland and Konrad Reuland are expected to see time at tight end with Keller out.
