The Pittsburgh Steelers were back on the practice field Saturday for the first time since their 24-23 loss Thursday night against the Philadelphia Eagles and my co-host David Todd was right there with them to take in the action.
To start this Saturday special edition of The Terrible Podcast we start off talking about the knee injury suffered by rookie left tackle Mike Adams and how it shook up the starting offensive line combination used on Saturday as Marcus Gilbert flipped over to left tackle and Ramon Foster took his spot at right tackle. As it looks right now the starting five against the Indianapolis Colts in the second preseason game next weekend figures to be left to right: Gilbert, Willie Colon, Maurkice Pouncey, David DeCastro and Foster. The knee injury suffered by Adams along with his poor performance Thursday night likely means that he has no shot at starting week 1 against the Denver Broncos. David and I discuss what will happen if Gilbert has a good showing at left tackle against the Colts. Will it still be Max Starks as the week 1 starter regardless, or can Gilbert win that left side spot now?
David and I talk about the injured held out of practice on Saturday and he lets us know what the team worked on in practice and which players stood out in his eyes. David also got to talk briefly to linebacker Adrian Robinson and passes along the discussion. Tyler Beiler and Robert Golden also had good showings on Saturday and David fills in the details.
