Season 2, Episode 126 of The Terrible Podcast is up and co-host David Todd and I start off by explaining how we are not playing up to the standard today after I lost the rerecording of our Tuesday morning interview with Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal. We had a great talk with Nate concerning the Cleveland Browns as they head into training camp, but unfortunately the file went bye bye. Have no fear though as David is scheduled to have Nate on ESPN 970 on Wednesday afternoon and he will ask a lot of the same questions we had for Nate today. I will add that interview to the end of this podcast Wednesday evening in case you miss it.
David and I move on to discuss the new contracts give to Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice and Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte on Monday. We have a close look at the different structures of both and how the Rice deal is structured in a way that a new deal with Pittsburgh Steelers restricted free agent wide receiver Mike Wallace might look like, if one is indeed reached. David and I look at what the new contract for Rice means now to Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco, who is entering the final year of his rookie contract as well. No, we haven\’t turned into a Ravens podcast, but this is all relevant news on two major players for a division rival and is certainly worth discussing.
David and I then move to quickly look at all of the arrest in the league the last few days and why Steeler fans need to pay close attention to what happens to Denver Broncos defensive end Elvis Dumervil moving for award. We end the show by reading portions of an email sent to us by one of our long time listeners, who takes serious issue with the Wallace holdout. David and I both give our thoughts on the situation before closing out the show.
