Season 2, Episode 88 of The Terrible Podcast is up and with David Todd and I are back for our third and final podcast this week. We open up talking about the pay cut that Casey Hampton took and what it means to his 2012 status and also what it means to the Steelers salary cap situation. We talk about how the extra room is likely enough for Byron Leftwich, Charlie Batch, Jerricho Cotchery and William Gay to be re-signed, should they indeed still be on the market later on in free agency. Is Leftwich being courted by the Indianapolis Colts and former Steelers offensive coordinator Bruce Arians? That\’s what I was told by someone close to the Steelers organization and it makes a little bit of sense.
We move on to talk about the news on Friday that Peyton Manning is now entertaining offers from the San Francisco 49ers. They still have quite a bit of cap space after locking a few players up and we wonder maybe if indeed they might not be completely out of the picture to make a run at Mike Wallace. We beat that dead horse again and David gets on his soap box to beat the Ramon Foster and Doug Legursky horse once again before we head into the weekend. We talk about a few of the other free agent signings that have take place since Wednesday and talk about several players that were involved in them.
We move on to talk about my latest article that centers around the unrestricted free agents that the Steelers have signed during the prime signing period since Kevin Colbert took over in 2000. When we get to Duce Staley is when the hilarity begins as David he confuses Staley with Najeh Davenport and you can only imagine where the conversation goes from there and we both get pretty good laughs out of it.
We will be slowly moving back to more draft talk starting next week and hope to have a special guest on next week to talk about some draft prospects.
