Season 2, Episode 90 of The Terrible Podcast is up and with David Todd and start with the crazy few days of news around the NFL and that included the Bountygate punishment handed down by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to the New Orleans Saints and the trade of quarterback Tim Tebow to the New York Jets. Was the punishment just by Goodell and was it a good deal for the Jets? We discuss both.
We them move forward and talk Steelers football with Mike Wallace being the main topic. David and I talk about the Thursday article by Matt Barrows in the Sacramento Bee that stated the San Francisco 49ers had interest in Wallace until they found out he wanted Larry Fitzgerald type money. We also discuss the Scott Brown Friday morning report in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that stated the Steelers are still looking to get a long-term deal done with Wallace according to team president Art Rooney II. We wrap up a few free agency loose ends in edition in regards to cornerback William Gay before getting to the interviews.
22:45 mark – Barrows joined me for a 10 plus minute interview Friday morning and we discussed his Thursday article about the 49ers interest in Wallace. He stands behind his source that told him the 49ers indeed did have interest in the Steelers restricted free agent wide receiver until they found out what his demands were. We also discuss the other offseason moves the 49ers have made since free agency started and Barrows tells us the 49ers have moved on from Wallace now. 35:45 mark – We close out the show with the Wednesday interview I had with former West Virginia University HB/TE Will Johnson, who was signed by the Steelers this past week. Johnson tells us all about his second pro day experience and how the Steelers had interest in him. We talk about his move from wide receiver to tight end/h-back and about his training regiment in addition.
