The William Gay free agency tour has added a stop on its itinerary as Jim Wyatt, Tennessee Titans beat writer for the The Tennessean, reported on Twitter Monday evening that Gay has a visit scheduled with the Titans on Tuesday. Gay reportedly visited with the Arizona Cardinals on Monday and there is no word that he was offered a contract.
The Titans lost long time cornerback Cortland Finnegan to the St. Louis Rams since the free agency signing period started and could be looking at Gay for depth purposes. Gay had been working out down in Orlando at the Wide World of Sports complex with trainer Tom Shaw prior to his recent visits. He has mentioned as late as this past week that his wish was to return to Pittsburgh in 2012, but the Steelers will let him explore his options first, much like they did last year.
There were rumors early on in free agency that the Cincinnati Bengals had interest in Gay as well, but there has been no visit to the Queen City reported as of yet. It would figure that the Steelers would only like Gay back for depth purposes on a one-year qualifying contract.
ETA: Gay posted on Twitter Monday night that it was a long but very productive day for him and that he has a long flight now back to Orlando. Speculate what you will.
