Season 2, Episode 64 of The Terrible Podcast is up and with David Todd busy tearing up the blackjack tables in Las Vegas, I have Nick Richetta back in the co-host chair this week as we recap the Steelers 13-9 win over the Cleveland Browns to close out the 2011 regular season.
Before we get into talking about the game, Nick and I talk about the injuries suffered by Rashard Mendenhall, Keenan Lewis and Cortez Allen yesterday. Mendenhall is out for the season with a torn ACL in his right knee, but we do not think he was the biggest injury of the three. We explain who was and why. We discuss the status of Ryan Clark as it relates to the upcoming AFC wild card game in Denver and both of us are convinced that Mike Tomlin will hold him out once again and that the defense will be fine without in.
We finally get into recapping the Browns game and share what we did and did not like. Is Mike Wallace losing focus? Is Ben Roethlisberger still not making certain throws because of his injured ankle? We discuss the several miscues in the game on offense before talking a little about the defense. We move on to take a Twitter question about Jason Worilds and give our thoughts on where he is at right now. Troy Polamalu and Brett Keisel get some love from us and we talk about the missed tackles in the game.
We circle back to Mendenhall and his future with the Steelers after suffering the knee injury and I try to put a positive spin on it. We close out with some special teams talk and heap praise on Antonio Brown. There are several other talking points mixed in as well.
