Another injury note I forgot to pass along today, but according to Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end Brett Keisel this morning on DVE, he will not need surgery on his injured groin that forced him out of the AFC Wildcard game early against the Denver Broncos. Keisel told DVE when asked about his injury, “I\’m healing up good, I\’m healing up good. As of right now I am not going to need surgery, so that\’s a great thing and you know just back on the rehab wagon and get going.” Keisel added, “I\’m happy that I can just work myself back into getting in shape and it feels a lot better and I\’m healing well.”
Not only did Kesisel update his own injury status, but according to what he knows right now, nose tackle Casey Hampton still will not require surgery on his ACL that he too injured early in the game against the Broncos. It was reported not long ago that he would be able to just rehab the knee back and it seems that will continue to be the plan according to Keisel as he said, “I think Casey is doing well.”
ETA: Now being reported one day later that Hampton will have ACL surgery.
Keisel was on this morning to promote, Shear Da Beard II, that will be held on Thursday, February 9 at the Diesel Club Lounge (1601 East Carson St. Pittsburgh, PA). Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. and the shaving ceremony will commence at 7:00 p.m. Tickets to the event are $25.00 and all of the proceeds from the event will be donated by Keisel to the cancer programs at Children\’s Hospital of Pittsburgh UPMC.
