It sounds like Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown might be a victim of his success as TMZ is reporting that the mother of his child filed court documents in Miami, where she claims that Antonio has had custody of their 4-year-old son in Pennsylvania for months and he\’s not being taken care of.
Shameika Brailsford claims Antonio took the child without her permission, and that she hasn\’t had contact with her son since. According to TMZ she is asking the court for an emergency child pick-up order which would require the child to be picked up by law enforcement and returned to her in Florida.
Antonio\’s lawyer, Jason Marks, is contesting the claim by Shameika and says she is lying through her teeth. Marks told TMZ, “None of that is true. The mother consented to the child living with Mr. Brown back in February.” Marks added, “The mother obviously knew where the child was the entire time and, in fact, Mr. Brown recently arranged for the mother to visit with the child in Pittsburgh. This is nothing more than a classic attempt to shake down a professional athlete for money.”
Brown has burst onto the scene in his sophomore season with the Steelers and he became the first player in NFL history to record 1,000 receiving yards and 1,000 return yards in a season. He was voted the team MVP just last week for his tremendous 2011 season.
