Curtis Brown Has Surgery On Torn Knee Meniscus

Pittsburgh Steelers rookie cornerback Curtis Brown had surgery on Wednesday to repair a torn meniscus in one of his knees and reportedly it was just a simple scope type procedure. Brown was placed on injured reserve prior to the Steelers game this past Saturday against the St. Louis Rams and rookie running back John Clay was signed off of the practice squad to take his place.

Brown inured his knee in the Steelers week 14 win over the Cleveland Browns and he showed up the following week on the Steelers injury report. He was ruled out for the following Monday night game against the San Francisco 49ers and subsequently was placed on season ending injured reserve.

Brown should be ready to go by the time the Steelers offeseason gets started and the injury is not believed to be serious according to a source. The team\’s 3rd round pick last April, was leading the Steelers in special-teams tackles with 15 when he got inured.
