Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin held his post game press conference following the Steelers 24-17 win this afternoon against the Cincinnati Bengals on the road at Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati.
Tomlin said it was a good bounce back win in many ways, especially the way the defense played down the stretch as compared to last week. Tomlin said he liked the overall effort today. Tomlin said they suffered a few minor in-game injuries that he did not expect to be problematic coming out of the bye. Safety Ryan Clark injured a shoulder and tackle Max Starks suffered a stinger. There were a few other bumps and bruises Tomlin did not mention.
Tomlin says they are excited to get their first AFC North win and said if you want a chance to win the division, you have to win division games. Tomlin also addressed the play of William Gay and why Hines Ward saw so little action. Tomlin also praised the play of Jerricho Cotchery.
