According to a tweet from Elias Sports Management, the Steelers have claimed defensive tackle Al Woods off waivers after being waived by the Seattle Seahawks yesterday. Woods was originally drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the fourth round of the 2010 NFL Draft, but was released prior to the start of the season. The Steelers signed Woods to the practice squad following his release from the Saints and he was eventually signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers off of the Steelers practice squad in early November of 2010. Woods was released by the Buccaneers prior to the start of this season and was claimed off waivers by the Seahawks. It is unclear who was released to make room from Woods, but it likely could be linebacker Mortty Ivy.
