Rashard Mendenhall Named AFC Offensive Player Of The Week

Another week and another Player of the Week award for a Steelers player as running back Rashard Mendenhall has been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. Mendenhall rushed for 146 yards on 23 carries against the Jaguars and it included a nice 8-yard touchdown run and a long 68-yard run off of right guard and down the left sideline.

Mendenhall had missed the previous week against the Titans with a hamstring injury, but returned this week with a vengeance. He looked more decisive with his runs inside and the hamstring did not seem to bother him at all. He is the second Steelers player to win the offensive player award in as many weeks as quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was given the award just a week ago for his play against the Titans.
