Season 2, Episode 8 of The Terrible Podcast is up and David Todd and I get a full preview in of the Steelers second preseason game against the Eagles tonight at Heinz Field. We get things started by going over the players that will not play tonight and how thin the Steelers are particularly at the cornerback position. We move on to recap the news of the Limas Sweed release. David was a little surprised it happened so soon, while I on the other hand was not shocked. We hit on the Steelers recent attempt of claiming Thaddeus Gibson off waivers this week as well.
As we move along I cover the things that I will be looking closely at in tonight\’s game and they include Tony Hills start at right guard, the debuts of Curtis Brown and Jerricho Cotchery, and the need of maturation from Jason Worilds and Jonathan Dwyer. I also point out a special teams item I think could give us some insight into the roster construction. David gives his few things he will be watching in addition. Next up we look a little ahead to the week 1 game against the Ravens and wonder if the Steelers are already doing the same. During the Ravens talk we briefly discuss the Ravens trade for receiver Lee Evans and what that means to them.
Near the end we discuss some players that might be on the bubble and a few that might be headed to the practice squad. We get a few more thoughts in on a few more players before closing things out for this episode.
