A day after safety Da’Mon Cromartie-Smith was re-signed to the offseason roster, the Steelers have also announced they have re-signed practice squad defensive end Ra\’Shon Sunny Harris to their offseason roster on Thursday. Harris was originally drafted by the Steelers in the sixth round (205th overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft, but was released prior to the start of the season. After spending time on the Carolina Panthers active roster and practice squad, he was released and re-signed to the Steelers offseason roster. He was with the Steelers again for the 2010 training camp, but once again failed to make the 53 man roster and was released. He was claimed off waivers by the Buffalo Bills on October 6, 2010 and placed on their practice squad, but released later in the month. The Steelers re-signed him again to their practice squad on November 3rd and he remained there for the rest of the 2010 season.
The Steelers also formerly announced on Thursday the re-signings of practice squad players WR Tyler Grisham, LB Chris Ellis, T Kyle Jolly and TE Eugene Bright. We announced these moves last week here. The Steelers also signed first-year WR Wes Lyons to a Reserve/Future contract for the 2011 season. We had that news here last week.
