The Steelers continued their practice preparations on Tuesday in preparation for their week 16 Thursday night game against the Carolina Panthers. WR Arnaz Battle (chest) was added to the injury report on Tuesday and did not practice. Also not practicing were S Troy Polamalu (ankle) and of course DE Aaron Smith (triceps). Smith will be out this week and it is looking more and more like Polamalu will miss his second straight game as well. DT Steve McLendon (stinger) practiced fully on Tuesday. TE Heath Miller is back working fully after missing the last two games with a concussion he suffered against the Ravens. He is not on the injury report at all. It is being reported that T Jonathan Scott is receiving the bulk of the snaps still at left tackle early in the week. It was speculated that Trai Essex might take over after subbing for Scott on the final Steelers drive against the Jets this past Sunday. It is still not clear though who will start at this point.
For the Panthers, DE Tyler Brayton (hip), CB Captain Munnerlyn (not injury related), FB Tony Fiammetta (ankle) and RB Mike Goodson (illness) did not practice on Tuesday. CB Chris Gamble (ankle) and WR Armanti Edwards (illness) were limited on Tuesday while LB Jordan Senn (knee), G Mackenzy Bernadeau (knee) and T Garry Williams (knee) practiced fully.
