According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley missed the team’s flight to Baltimore last Wednesday.
Haley, who reportedly was late for the flight after getting stuck in traffic, called ahead and said he would just ride with his wife to Baltimore for the Thursday night game against the Baltimore Ravens.
As it turns out, Haley arrived in enough time as to not miss any meetings. It is curious as to why it’s taken a full week for this news to surface, however.
It’s probably not a huge deal that Haley missed the flight, but there is a reason that a team travels together and all players and coaches are expected to allow for enough time for traffic.
If the Steelers drop to 1-2 Sunday night with a loss to the Carolina Panthers, you can bet that the Haley haters will certainly be adding this little bit of news to their argument for firing him.
