JETS WR HURT
The trade deadline will be here in just a few days, and the Steelers still haven’t made a move. They’ve been poking around receivers for months now, so they could still make an addition there. Mike Williams of the New York Jets seems like a likely target, but the Jets might be less willing to trade him now.
When the Jets acquired Davante Adams, it seemed certain that Williams would be traded. However, as reported by NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, Jets receiver Allen Lazard was recently placed on injured reserve. That means the Jets have a place for Williams in their offense now. It seems less likely that they’d want to ship Williams off now.
HURTS CAN’T GOLF
NFL players make a lot of money, but they do have to follow some strict rules. Take one look at Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts. According to John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia, Hurts recently revealed that it’s in his contract that he’s not allowed to golf. It may seem odd, but that’s similar to when the Steelers warned a young Ben Roethlisberger that he could jeopardize his contract by riding a motorcycle.
However, former agent Joel Corry actually revealed that Hurts’ contract doesn’t specifically say that he can’t golf. It just says he can’t partake in non-football activities that could involve a significant risk to him. Golf may be less physical than football, but it sure can take its toll.
HIGHSMITH HALLOWEEN INTERVIEW
Halloween is a great time of year if you love candy, scary movies and costumes. It’s not for everyone, but some people really enjoy it. Alex Highsmith seems to be an enjoyer of Halloween. During a recent interview with Adam Schefter’s daughter, Dylan, on NFL.com, Highsmith spoke about things he liked about Halloween.
It’s a nice, football-free interview. It might not provide any hard-hitting information, but it’s nice to know more about Highsmith as a person. He certainly brought some treats for fans on the field this past week, and hopefully he keeps that up.
