UPDATE (8:52 PM): The Steelers have announced their initial UDFA class. It’s possible the team adds more names over the next 24-48 hours.
Beanie Bishop, CB, West Virginia
Daijun Edwards, RB, Georgia
John Rhys Plumlee, QB, Central Florida
Julius Welschof, linebacker, Charlotte
Jacoby Windmon, linebacker, Michigan State
Our original article and list is below. No financial terms have been disclosed but those should leak out over the next few days. Generally, the Steelers only offer small signing bonuses to its undrafted class instead of partial base salary guarantees like most other teams.
Below are scouting reports we have already written on Bishop and Plumlee. Look for film rooms on the others in the coming days.
And as Dave Bryan outlined, the Steelers still have three open spots on their 90-man roster. The team will hold their three-day rookie minicamp two weeks from now.
The Pittsburgh Steelers 2024 draft class is in the books. But the team isn’t done adding rookies. Undrafted free agency is underway, a wild process where teams convince those not drafted to sign with them. This post will have a running tally of reported signings, though nothing is official until the team announces their class either later today or tomorrow.
There are times where players and teams reach agreements but a player changes his mind and goes somewhere else at the last second. Just keep that in mind. Pittsburgh’s likely to have a smaller UDFA class of 8-10 players and they don’t often sign the big “name” options. But we’ll see what this year holds.
