The Pittsburgh Steelers are working out DB Rachad Wildgoose today. That’s according to NFL insider Aaron Wilson, who tweeted the news a short time ago.
To astute Steelers fans, this news might sound familiar. The team worked Wildgoose out last week, one of several defensive backs they brought in for a workout. Ultimately, he did not sign.
As Wilson notes, Wildgoose was a sixth-round pick of the Buffalo Bills in 2021. He never appeared in a game for the Bills but played in five games his rookie season for the New York Jets, finishing the season with three tackles. He saw significant action in 2022 with the Washington Commanders, playing in 15 games and making three starts. He recorded 16 tackles and broke up three passes as he played nearly 200 defensive snaps and another 90 on special teams.
In college at Wisconsin, he recorded 57 total tackles and one interception. At his Pro Day, he weighed in at 5112, 197 pounds and ran a 4.53 40 time. He also leaped 36 inches in the vertical and 10’0″ in the broad jump. You can read our full pre-draft profile on him below, written by our Tyler Wise.
We’ll let you know if he signs. Wildgoose could be part of a larger group of players working out today. Tuesday is the typical workout day for teams during the week, and the Steelers don’t hold practice until tomorrow.
