There will be yet another new wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers to contend with in 2023 and it’s Odell Beckham Jr.
According to NFL Network on Sunday, the Baltimore Ravens are signing Beckham to a one-year deal worth up to $18 million. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the deal Beckham will sign with the Ravens will include $15 million guaranteed.
Beckham’s one-year deal includes a $13.835 million signing bonus, a $1.165 million base salary and another $3 million in reachable incentives, according to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network. The Ravens reportedly had met with Beckham at the owners meetings in Arizona last month.
Beckham, who was originally selected by the New York Giants in the first round (12th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft out of LSU, last played with the Cleveland Browns and Los Angeles Rams in 2021.
In 2021, Beckham registered 44 receptions for 537 yards with five touchdowns in 14 regular season games played in. He also rushed twice for 14 yards and a touchdown during the 2021 season.
For his NFL career to date, Beckham has 531 receptions for 7,367 yards with 56 touchdowns. He also has 23 career carries for 170 yards and a touchdown.
Against the Steelers for his NFL career, Beckham has registered 20 receptions for 220 yards in five regular season games played.
Beckham won a Super Bowl with the Rams during the 2021 season, which he started as a member of the Browns. In that Super Bowl win against the Cincinnati Bengals, Beckham scored the game’s first touchdown. However, he left that game in the second quarter with a knee injury, which was ultimately diagnosed as a torn ACL.
Beckham first announced on Sunday on Instagram that he is joining the Ravens. This comes a day before he was reportedly set to visit the New York Jets. He’ll join a Ravens wide receiver group that ranked last in the NFL in receiving yards in 2022.
Beckham is 30 years of age and he will turn 31 in November.
Update: The Ravens have now confirmed that they will be signing Beckham.
