Mike Tomlin’s become a familiar face for Pittsburgh’s annual ManUp Conference and 2021 is no exception. Tomlin is slated to speak at this year’s conference, held June 12th, and he won’t be the only Steeler in attendance either. Joining him will be Steelers’ defensive linemen Cam Heyward and former Steelers’ offensive guard and current team broadcaster Craig Wolfley. Steelers’ Chaplain Kent Chevalier will also speak.
The conference will be held in-person and virtually. Its mission, according to their website, is:
“ManUp helps maximize your impact in your home, neighborhood, and city. Keynote speakers, local pastors, and sports personalities will challenge you to be the best godly leader you can be and raise awareness of the devastating impact of fatherlessness among youth today.”
Tomlin filmed this video highlighting this year’s event and inviting others to register.
Tomlin has been attending these ManUp conferences since they began in 2013.
“We are here to encourage dads, help dads,” Tomlin said in his 2014 presentation. “We are also here to make dads know there are kids in their community that are fatherless and could use their assistance if they have it to offer. There are ministry outreaches in our community that are doing similar things and maybe we can connect willing dads with those groups.”
Other speakers for the 2021 event include Bishop Claude Alexander and Reverend Dr. Ed Glover. Past Steelers’ speakers include Tunch Ilkin and Ben Roethlisberger.
Tickets for the in-person event cost $49 including breakfast and lunch. Signing up for the virtual event is free. You can find out more information about the event and how to register at the link here.
