Big news for Pittsburgh Steelers’ fans today. Ben Roethlisberger still has a long road to being fully recovered from his season-ending elbow injury, but he took a big step today, resuming throwing for the first time. The team posted a clip of Roethlisberger throwing in a gym.

Roethlisberger met with doctors in California yesterday for a check-up on his rehab. The hope was to begin clearing him to throw, which clearly they did, a great sign for his progress. It should be noted that’s a football too, not a tennis ball or “small object,” which was the reported next step weeks ago.
Kevin Colbert will speak to media Tuesday at the Combine and should be able to provide more updates. But a picture, or in this case, a video, is worth a thousand words.
