The Pittsburgh Steelers have now released their second injury report of Week 17 ahead of their Sunday afternoon road game against the Baltimore Ravens and the Thursday offering shows that quite a few players that sat out Wednesday’s practice resumed activities. It also shows that two other players who were not on the Wednesday injury report failed to practice.
Not practicing again on Wednesday for the Steelers because of injuries were center Maurkice Pouncey (knee) and running back James Conner (quad).
Pouncey, who suffered a left knee injury during the team’s Week 16 road loss to the New York Jets, has already been ruled out for Sunday’s regular season finale against the Ravens by head coach Mike Tomlin. B.J. Finney will start at center in place of Pouncey against the Ravens.
As for Conner, he essentially remains highly questionable to play Sunday after suffering a quad injury in the second quarter of the team’s game against the Jets. Conner had an MRI on Monday it revealed that nothing was torn.
Also not practicing on Thursday for the Steelers were cornerback Joe Haden (foot) and guard Ramon Foster (not injury related) and thus both were added to the injury report. Haden reportedly said after Thursday’s practice that he’ll be good to go Sunday against the Ravens. He also missed last Thursday’s practice but still played against the Jets. As for Foster, he was likely just given his normal day off to rest on Thursday.
After sitting out Wednesday’s practice, tight end Vance McDonald (not injury related), tackle Alejandro Villanueva (not injury related), inside linebacker Mark Barron (not injury related), guard David DeCastro (not injury related), outside linebacker T.J. Watt (not injury related), defensive tackle Cameron Heyward (not injury related) and corberback Steven Nelson (groin) are all listed as practicing fully on Thursday.
