After leaving practice early Thursday, JuJu Smith-Schuster is expected to sit out Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
As Schefter notes and as media reports indicated yesterday, Smith-Schuster aggravated his left knee injury that’s kept him out the past three games. Now, it looks like he’ll miss his fourth. At the start of the week, Mike Tomlin was optimistic about his chances to return and Smith-Schuster worked full on Wednesday. Now, he’s back to square one.
Limited by injury, poor QB play, and his own disappointing moments, he has just 38 receptions for 524 yards and three touchdowns this season.
Diontae Johnson and James Washington will continue to function as the top receivers in the Steelers’ offense. Both guys have put together impressive seasons after relatively slow starts.
