The Pittsburgh Steelers have now released their first official injury report of Week 10 ahead of their Sunday home game against the Los Angeles Rams and the Wednesday offering shows that seven players sat out practice earlier in the day with two others being limited during the session.
Not practicing for the Steelers on Wednesday were wide receiver Ryan Switzer (back), running back Benny Snell Jr. (knee), inside linebacker Mark Barron (not injury related), running back Trey Edmunds (ribs), fullback Roosevelt Nix (knee), center Maurkice Pouncey (not injury related) and tight end Vance McDonald (not injury related).
Switzer and Edmunds both suffered their injuries during the team’s last game on Sunday but seemingly played through their ailments. Snell has already been ruled out for the Steelers Sunday game against the Rams while Nix has been fighting through a reaggravated knee injury for the last few weeks. Barron, Pouncey and McDonald were seemingly just given veteran days off on Wednesday and all three figure to resume practicing on Wednesday.
Limited in practice on Wednesday for the Steelers were running back James Conner (shoulder) and guard Ramon Foster (concussion), both of whom missed the team’s last game with their injuries. Foster said on Tuesday that he expects to play Sunday against the Rams. As for Conner, we’ll have to wait and see if he’s able to play Sunday against the Rams.
“We’re going to let his participation this week be our guide, in terms of his availability,” said head coach Mike Tomlin of Conner on Tuesday. “He’s probably going to be limited some in the early portions of the week. We will expect him to perk up as the week evolves and then make decisions accordingly.”
