The Cincinnati Bengals first official injury report of Week 12 ahead of their Sunday home game against the Pittsburgh Steelers has now been released and the Wednesday offering shows that seven players sat out practice earlier in the day.
Not practicing on Wednesday for the Bengals were wide receiver A.J. Green (ankle), cornerback Darqueze Dennard (not injury related), tight end Drew Sample (ankle), defensive tackle Geno Atkins (not injury related), tight end Tyler Eifert (not injury related), wide receiver Stanley Morgan (illness) and wide receiver Auden Tate (concussion).
Green, who originally injured his ankle on the first day of training camp, has practiced very little this season and has yet to play in a game. In short, he’s not expected to make his 2019 debut Sunday against the Steelers.
As for Tate, a starter, he suffered his concussion during the Bengals Sunday road loss to the Oakland Raiders and that injury required him to be stretchered off the field. It will be interesting to see if he can clear concussion protocol by the weekend. Sample, on the other hand, missed the Bengals Sunday game against the Raiders with his ankle injury.
Three other players who sat out Wednesday’s practice for the Bengals, Dennard, Atkins, and Eifert are all listed as missing not due to injury.
Limited for the Bengals on Wednesday were safety Shawn Williams (thumb) and guard Billy Price (back). Guard Alex Redmond (knee/ankle) is listed by the Bengals as practicing fully on Wednesday.
