Pittsburgh Steelers running back James Conner rushed for 145 yards and a touchdown in the teams Monday night home win over the Miami Dolphins and on Wednesday he was named the AFC’s Offensive Player of Week 8 for his efforts.
Conner carried the football 23 times Monday night against the Dolphins and had two long runs of 25 and 17 yards during the contest. Conner also caught three passes for 5 yards in the Steelers win over the Dolphins.
It was Conner’s first 100-yard game of the 2019 season, and the sixth of his career. The 145 yards rushing are the second-highest single-game total of his career,
Conner last rushed for 100 yards in a game last season in Week 9 against the Baltimore Ravens. He was also named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 8 last season after rushing for 146 yards and two touchdowns in addition to catching 5 passes for another 66 yards in the team’s win over the Cleveland Browns.
For the season, Conner has rushed for 380 yards and four touchdowns on 97 total carries. He’s also caught 29 passes for 236 yards and two touchdowns this season.
