Steelers Injury Report: Foster, Conner, Snell, Pouncey Injured Monday Night

The Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Miami Dolphins 27-14 art home Monday night but the team did suffer a few injuries during the contest. During his post-game press conference, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin went over the list of injured players.

“From an injury standpoint, Ramon Foster had a concussion,” Tomlin said. “He’s in the protocol. Benny Snell is getting his knee evaluated. Maurkice Pouncey hurt his calf but was able to finish the game. James Conner has got a shoulder/AC being evaluated. We’ll know more about those guys. I’ll update you guys tomorrow at our normal press conference.”

Guard Ramon Foster was injured late in the first half and did not return for the second half. He was replaced at left guard by B.J. Finney. Snell left in the third quarter while running back James Conner seemingly injured his shoulder late in the game. He later left Heinz Field with his right shoulder in a sling under a jacket, according to ESPN.

The Steelers have a short week on tap but they might have running back Jaylen Samuels back for their Week 9 home game against the Indianapolis Colts. Samuels, who ended the week listed as questionable after practicing fully on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, was one of the team’s seven inactive players Monday night against the Dolphins.

The Steelers were so banged up at running back late in Monday’s game that third-stringer Trey Edmunds finally logged his first carry with the team. The Steelers also have running back Tony Brooks-James on their practice squad.
