Happy Friday to yinz and welcome to the weekend.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are on their bye this week so that means we can sit back and watch several other games that will take place around the NFL. Obviously the game between the Baltimore Ravens and the Seattle Seahawks will have the interest of most all Steelers fans on Sunday. The Ravens will also face the New England Patriots after their Week 8 bye so a lot can potentially change in the AFC North in the next few weeks should they lose both of their next two games.
October is a great month to live in Las Vegas as the weather is absolutely fantastic right now. Keep that in mind if you plan on traveling to Sin City in the near future. I think wifey and I are going to venture down to old Vegas Friday night for a few hours and take in Fremont Street and go see the city at night from atop the Stratosphere. We have done neither of those two things in quite some time and a Steelers bye week Friday is the perfect time for us to venture out.
As usual, I have five questions for yinz to answer starting now and through Sunday morning and I look forward to seeing several participate. David Orochena continues to score the results of the weekly Friday night five questions and in case you missed it earlier today, he is featured on Steelers.com and you can watch the video at the link below. Congrats to him!!!

Have a safe and great weekend and peace and love to all of yinz!

Recap of 2019 NFL Week 6 Friday Night 5 Questions
Question 1: Benny Snell played 29 offensive snaps for the Steelers last Sunday night. However, Randy Fichtner kept the wildcat playbook on the shelf and Snell did not take any direct snaps in the game against the Chargers. A majority of Steelers Depot respondents got this right by a 57.4% margin.
Question 2: Ryan Switzer only played 6 offensive snaps. Devlin “Duck” Hodges targeted him one time which he caught for a two-yard loss. In any case, Switzer did not attempt any passes against the Chargers. An overwhelming 98.5% of respondents picked up a point on this question.
Question 3: Donte Moncrief played 14 offensive snaps. The Duck targeted him twice. He picked up a first down on a diving catch. The other target did not look catchable to me. He may be moving in the right direction. Respondents predicted Moncrief catching anywhere from 0 to 5 passes. The median response was two receptions. The most popular response was three by 33.8% of respondents. Just 8.8% correctly predicted Moncrief’s game total of one reception.
Question 4: Guard Fred Johnson, who was waived on Friday, was signed by the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday. He did not get an opportunity to play since he was inactive in the first five games. Respondents were hoping that he would remain in Pittsburgh but 28.4% predicted that he would be gone due to the lack of offensive line depth on many NFL rosters. This question ultimately decided who would get the 5-point weekly bonus.
Question 5: Duck Hodges threw his first NFL touchdown pass to James Conner against the Chargers. It was his only touchdown pass of the game. Respondents predicted the Duck throwing 0 to 4 TD’s. The median response was two. The most popular response was also two by 48.5% of respondents. A healthy 26.5% correctly predicted the Ducks game total of one touchdown pass.
Previous Weeks: There are 15- & 5-point bonus up for grabs from week 1 by correctly predicting the Steelers & Browns regular season records for those that answered. 95% of the respondents are still in the running to collect all 20 of those bonus points. Also, from week 3, 29 (42.6%) respondents picked up a point from that week by correctly predicting the Steelers would go 2-2 versus the 49ers, Bengals, Ravens, & Chargers.
Please welcome two new respondents to the Steelers Depot Friday Night 5 Questions: SteelersFaninSC & Vincent Dale. Answer every week and you never know; you might end up on the top of the leaderboard.
We finally had a respondent pickup the weekly 5-poiont bonus by answering all the questions correctly. There were four respondents who missed by one question: SJT63, Jeff Papiernik, PittShawnC, and B&G. Following the game, we just had to determine whether Fred Johnson would remain a Steeler. So, it came down between B&G and ManRayX who apparently was sandbagging. Here was his comment before answering all 5 questions correctly: “The sound you hear echoing from the bottom of the barrel is me making my stunningly bad weekly picks! Here they are from the abyss:”
- No
2. False
3. One
4. False
5. One.
That response leapt him into first place on the leaderboard. Kudos!
A reminder. There is a natural drop off in responses during the bye week. Seven folks fell off the leaderboard but are just a point off. Don’t forget to respond this weekend so that you all can maintain the pace. It just takes one good set of answers to make a significant move toward the prize money.
