The Pittsburgh Steelers will hold their annual Family Fest practice at Heinz Field Sunday night and it sounds like outside linebacker T.J. Watt (hamstring) might be allowed to participate in it in some capacity.
According to Field Yates of ESPN on Sunday, Watt has passed his physical and has been removed from the Steelers ACTIVE/PUP list. The former first-round draft pick was placed on ACTIVE/PUP at the start of training camp after suffering some hamstring tightness at the conclusion of the team’s annual conditioning test.
The Steelers have yet to officially announce Watt’s removal from the ACTIVE/PUP list but that’s likely just a formality at this point as the former first-round draft pick out of Wisconsin is on the NFL’s official transaction sheet from Sunday as having passed his physical.
Our own Alex Kozora will be present for the team’s Sunday night practice at Heinz Field and he’ll let us know how much Watt participates as the evening wears on.
