Steelers’ Seven Shots – Sunday, July 21, 2019

Every Sunday during the offseason I plan on recapping for you seven items related to the Pittsburgh Steelers and the rest of the NFL that may have fallen through the cracks the past week that should be worth your time to read or watch. This weekly feature will be entitled “Steelers’ Seven Shots.”

Shot #1 – I spent a few hours on Saturday watching the ‘All or Nothing’ series from last year featuring the Carolina Panthers on Amazon Prime and in the episode “It Happens” the game last season against the Steelers is covered. Below are three great clips from that segment.

Shot #2 – If you’re looking for a podcast episode to listen to on this Sunday make sure to check out the recent one below from Matt Waldman of The Rookie Scouting Portfolio. During this episode, Waldman and guest Dwain McFarland make well-educated stats projections for the Steelers offense in 2019.

Shot #3 – Still looking for more to listen to on this Sunday? Check out the latest episode of ‘The Peter King Podcast’. In his latest episode, Peter King has former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning on to discuss his forthcoming new original ESPN series. That discussion leads to Manning talking about how in future show episodes that an attempt to recreate the Steelers Immaculate Reception will be made. Additionally, Manning talks about how former Steelers running back Jerome Bettis will be questioned about playing a part in killing the fullback position in the NFL. Manning also talks some in this podcast episode about how Elvis Presley was a huge NFL fan and how his favorite team was the Steelers.

Shot #4 – The 2019 NFL Record and Fact Book is finally here and now you can take a complete look inside the league’s 100th season. Make sure to download this and read through it as it comes from the NFL Football Operations Department.

Shot #5 – Here is yet another report on run/pass balance and how it doesn’t matter. Read this and understand it and start getting with the times. The key is running better, not necessarily more.
The Generalized Matching Law in Elite Sport Competition: Football Play Calling as Operant Choice.

Shot #6 – Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster has had a very busy offseason. He’s even in this latest video below from The Checkdown that focuses on NFL players and their Madden 20 ratings. JuJu is also on the cover of the latest edition of SI for Kids and a picture of that is also below.

Shot #7 – Several of us seemingly had a lot of fun with the FaceApp this past week and that definitely includes myself. Below are some of the best I and others put together using the app and pictures of Steelers players..
