If you click and scroll through the comments, you’ll see a lot of love from not only fans but teammates. Ryan Switzer, Jordan Dangerfield, Roosevelt Nix, and former Steeler Marcus Gilbert are just some of the names who pop up.

The progress he’s shown over the last year has been well documented. He took his first public steps without the assistance of a walking aide during the NFL draft and regularly walked around the field at training camp. He began jogging during the season, too and several times, spotted working out in the weight room.

While Shazier has been ruled out for 2019, it seems – though not explicitly known – that he’s targeting a 2020 comeback. He’s been adamant about attempting a return to the NFL ever since he publicly talked about his injury and rehab. While he’ll of course rely on the advice of doctors and family, if there’s anyone who will beat the long odds he faces, it’s him.
