Steelers Host Texas DL Charles Omenihu, LSU TE Foster Moreau For Tuesday Pre-Draft Visits

The Pittsburgh Steelers hosted two more players for pre-draft visits on Tuesday and both have already been linked to the team having interest in them.

According to Bob Labriola of steelers.com, the Steelers hosted Texas defensive lineman Charles Omenihu and LSU tight end Foster Moreau for Tuesday pre-draft visits.

Omenihu, who measured in at this year’s scouting combine at 6053, 280-pounds with 36-inch arms and 9 3/8-inch hands, was named the 2018 Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year and first team All-Big 12 by the AP and coaches. He registered 117 total tackles of which 30.5 resulted in lost yardage, in the 51 total games he played in at Texas. 17 of those were sacks and he also had 4 forced fumbles and 2 passes defensed during his college career.

Omenihu, who also participated in this year’s Senior Bowl, ran the 40-yard-dash in Indianapolis in 4.92-seconds and had a 36.5-inch vertical jump to go along with a 9’7″ broad jump. His short shuttle time at the combine was 4.36-seconds and his 3-cone time was 7.48-seconds. Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert also attended the Texas pro day this year.

As for Moreau, who was also a Senior Bowl participant this year, he measured in at this years scouting combine at 6041, 253-pounds with 33 1/2-inch arms and 9 5/8-inch hands. He ran his 40-yard-dash in 4.66-seconds, did 22 reps on the bench and had a vertical jump of 36.5-inches to go along with a a 10’1″ broad jump. His short shuttle time was 4.11-seconds and his 3-cone time was 7.16-seconds.

During his college career at LSU, Moreau caught 52 passes for 629 yards and 6 touchdowns. Colbert and Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin were both at the LSU pro day this year and the team has reportedly showed a lot of interest in Moreau dating back to the Senior Bowl.
