Day-three of the 2019 NFL Draft included the Pittsburgh Steelers making six selections in total with three coming in the sixth-round. Those six selections included running back Benny Snell Jr., tight end Zach Gentry, outside linebacker Sutton Smith, defensive tackle Isaiah Buggs, inside linebacker Ulysees Gilbert III, and tackle Derwin Gray all homecoming members of the Steelers.
With those six selections now in the books and the 2019 NFL Draft completed, below is what the four-year contracts of those players are expected to look like, according to projections made by Over the Cap.
All six players are expected to have minimum base salaries in each of the four-years of their rookie contracts. From there, the only difference in the contracts is the signing bonus amounts each will receive, which is also the only expected guaranteed money those six players will get in their deals.
Snell is expected to receive a signing bonus of roughly $702,060. Gentry, Smith, Buggs, Gilbert, and Gray are expected to receive signing bonus amounts of around $344,460, $203,288, $168,644, $127,832, and $105,848, respectively.
The 2019 prorated bonus amounts of each of those six rookie contracts totals out at $413,033 and that total is all the Steelers will lose in salary cap space once all players sign.
Additionally, it shouldn’t take long for these six players to get their deals signed and those transactions will likely take place during the team’s rookie mini camp a few weeks from now.
