Season 9, Episode 98 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can and in this Friday show, Alex Kozora and I immediately talk some about the new rule passed this week by NFL owners that will allow for the challenging of both offensive and defensive pass interference calls and non-calls. We discuss a few of the positives and concerns related to this new rule.
The 2019 pro day schedule is starting to wind down so Alex and I bring everyone up to date on where all the Pittsburgh Steelers have had people show up at and specifically, where general manager Kevin Colbert has been spotted this past week. We go over a few of the draft prospects that Colbert might have been getting a closer look at and how those players might fit into the team’s draft plans this year.
We discuss a few pro days that Colbert and head coach Mike Tomlin have not personally attended this offseason and what that may or may not mean as far as the team’s first-round selection might end up being.
Michigan linebacker Devin Bush is reportedly a player the Steelers have a lot of interest in this year as far as a potential first-round selection goes and because of that, Alex and I spent the last few days reviewing all of his 2018 tape. We both thoroughly breakdown Bush’s play last season not only from a tape standpoint, but a statistical one as well. We discuss why he may have not shown up as much on the defensive stat sheet during his college career.
Would and should the Steelers trade up for Bush this year if they really like him as much as we think they do? We discuss that topic and a few other possible players who might be in their sights should Bush and LSU linebacker Devin White both be off the board come time for the team’s first-round selection.
We tell our mock draft schedule for next week and also let listeners know what player we both intend on breaking down thoroughly next Friday.
As usual, we close this episode by answering several emails we have received from listeners over the course of the last several days.
