22 prospects will attend the 2018 NFL Draft later this month, according to Gil Brandt of NFL.com.
The list of 22 prospects who will attend this year’s draft in Arlington, Texas, at AT&T Stadium includes four quarterbacks. Those players are Sam Darnold, Josh Rosen, Josh Allen, and Lamar Jackson. Running back Saquon Barkley, who is expected to be drafted in the first five picks of this year’s draft, will also be present.
Last year, the league hosted 22 prospects at the draft and 17 of them ultimately were selected in the first-round. The other five prospects were all selected in the second-round.
What’s interesting is that there are five off-the-ball linebacker prospects who will attend this year’s draft in Tremaine Edmunds, Roquan Smith, Rashaan Evans, Leighton Vander Esch and Shaquem Griffin. Obviously, Griffin won’t be selected in the first-round this year and it will be interesting to see if the four others all hear their names called the first night. Normally we don’t ever see more than three inside linebacker prospects drafted in a first-round.
The prospects that attend the draft usually arrive in town way ahead of the event starting in order to participate in various NFL-related activities. Come time the draft starts, they all sit in the green room Thursday night and wait for their phones to ring.
Is the name of the player the Pittsburgh Steelers will ultimately draft in the first round included in the 22 names below?
