The Pittsburgh Steelers cut ties with a few more players Tuesday morning just one day after parting ways with quarterback Zach Mettenberger.
Waived on Tuesday were running backs Brandon Brown-Dukes and Gus Johnson, wide receiver Canaan Severin and cornerback Al-Hajj Shabazz.
Severin spent his rookie season on the Reserve/Injured list after being signed as an undrafted free agent.
Shabazz, who spent a few games on the Steelers 53-man roster in addition to being a member of the practice squad throughout the 2016 season, is perhaps the biggest surprise when it comes to these four names even though he was a long-shot to make the final 53-man roster this year.
Brown-Dukes had previously bounced on and off the Steelers practiced squad. Johnson also spent time on the Steelers practice squad last season.
The Steelers will need to waive a few more players soon.
