Steelers’ Seven Shots – Sunday, April 9, 2017

Every Sunday during the offseason I plan on recapping for you seven items related to the Pittsburgh Steelers and the rest of the NFL that may have fallen through the cracks the past week that should be worth your time to read. This weekly feature will be entitled “Steelers’ Seven Shots.”

Shot #1 – Are you really ready for the Steelers to draft their next future starting quarterback? Regardless of how you answer that question, make sure you read the article that Bob Labriola wrote on the subject this past week.

Shot #2 – Steelers linebacker James Harrison, linebacker Arthur Moats and center Maurkice Pouncey are reportedly all in Las Vegas participating in the inaugural “Pro Football Arm Wrestling Championship” this weekend and you have to wonder if all are indeed in violation of the gambling policy and thus subject to discipline as this story by Jarrett Bell of USA Today suggests.

Shot #3– If you want to feel older, former Steelers kicker Jeff Reed turns 38 on Sunday.

Shot #4 – Speaking of Steelers kickers, here is what Chris Boswell posted on Instagram after quarterback Ben Roethlisberger announced on Friday that he will indeed be playing in 2017. He’s quite an entertaining player much like Reed was, only different.

Shot #5In a recent article by Elliot Harrison of NFL.com, he ranked the top 50 No. 1 overall draft picks in the recent draft era and former Steelers quarterback Terry Bradshaw was listed at No. 4 overall.

Shot #6 – I posted the compilation video for LSU cornerback Tre’Davious White on Saturday and recently had him as the first round draft pick in my latest Steelers mock. If you still haven’t watched White’s combine interview, you can do so below and likely will be glad you did.

Shot #7 – Former Steelers linebacker LaMarr Woodley was sacked this past week when he was was eliminated in the first round of the Food Network show, “Chopped Star Power.” At least he still has that MTV show to fall back on.
