Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Senquez Golson is in the news Wednesday as the former second-round draft pick was reportedly stopped by TSA agents in the Mobile, AL airport after they found a handgun and bullets in his carry-on bag, according to TMZ Sports.
It’s important to point out that Golson wasn’t arrested, according to TMZ. However, TSA did alert police, who then proceeded to take his bag and they will reportedly hold on to his weapon until he returns from his trip.
At this time, it doesn’t appear as though Golson will face any legal repercussions related to this incident and one hopes that goes for the NFL as well.
Golson, who played his college football at Mississippi, has yet to play in a game for the Steelers as he missed his first two seasons due to shoulder and foot injuries. The team is hoping that Golson can stay healthy this year and compete for a starting spot during training camp and the preseason.
