Season 7, Episode 82 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Monday show, David Todd is back in the main chair and we spend the first third of the show getting his thoughts on what Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert had to say last week during his annual pre-combine talk with the media.
David and I then move on to talk about a few free agents a couple of major media sites have suggested the Steelers sign in the coming weeks. We talk about Steelers wide receiver Sammie Coates and the condition of one of his fingers before moving on to talk about whether or not the team should sign tackle Alejandro Villanueva to a contract extension this offseason even through he’s an exclusive rights free agent.
In the second half of this show I am joined again by former NFL agent Joel Corry, who writes for CBSSports.com. We discuss Corry’s recent article about Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell and how the franchise tag might play a role in future contract extension talks. We drop a lot of math during our discussion and Corry tells me what kind of money he thinks Bell might get from the Steelers by July 15.
Corry and I also discuss the future contract extension of wide receiver Antonio Brown and what kind of guaranteed money might be involved in that deal. If you like contract talk and math, you’ll love this interview. Make sure you follow Joel on Twitter at @CorryJoel if you’re not already doing so.
As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post.
