2016 NFL Wild Card Weekend: Steelers Friday Night Five Questions

Steelers Depot Friday Night Five Questions

Happy Friday to all of you and welcome to Wild Card weekend once again.

Due to my wife being out of town so much during the holidays, we will finally get around to celebrating Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years later on this evening with a huge dinner from the Honey Baked Ham Company complete with two pies (pecan and apple). I am so ready to chow down.

Little Finley Pearl has her second vet visit scheduled for bright and early Saturday morning as she is due for more scheduled shots. We put a collar and leash on her for the first-time Thursday night and she didn’t enjoy that one bit. Also, it seems like the potty training went in the wrong direction this past week. Her, not me, just so we’re clear.

The Pittsburgh Steelers will host the Miami Dolphins on Sunday and personally I can’t wait to see the home team exact some revenge. Being as I was born and raised in Florida, I have quite a few friends who are fans of the Dolphins. In fact, the Dolphins are my old mans’ second-favorite team behind the Dallas Cowboys. Now, keep in mind that he probably can’t name one single player on either of those two teams but that didn’t keep him and others from lightning up my phone after the Steelers lost to both the Dolphins and Cowboys earlier in the season.

Man, I really want to see the Steelers play the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game. Let’s hope that happens.

As usual on Friday, I have five questions for you to answer in the comments below and I hope several of you will once again partake in this weekly exercise. Here’s to hoping that next Fridays post includes me asking questions about the Steelers upcoming Divisional Round playoff game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Have a great start to your weekend and Go Steelers.

1 – The 2016 All-Pro team was announced on Friday and while Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown was the only first-team selection for the black and gold, running back Le’Veon Bell and guard David DeCastro both received second-team honors. Looking forward to 2017, name me one Steelers defensive player who has the best shot at being an All-Pro at this same time next year.

2 – On a scale of 1-100 with 100 being the best, please grade the defensive-only play this season of linebackers Ryan Shazier and Vince Williams and safeties Sean Davis and Robert Golden.

3 – Dolphins running back Jay Ajayi blistered the Steelers defense for 204 yards rushing in Week 6 and if he has a repeat performance of that game the Steelers will likely be one and done in the playoffs. How many yards rushing do you predict Ajayi will have on Sunday and on how many carries?

4 – Should the forecasted cold weather for Sunday combined with the Steelers having so many more players than the Dolphins do with at least one game of playoff experience be considered a huge advantage, or does that not really matter much?

5 – Fill in the blank: _______________ is the biggest x-factor on defense for the Steelers against the Dolphins.
