Is Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger currently the best in the NFL at his position? It probably depends on who you ask, but during the Friday edition of ESPN’s ‘Mike & Mike’ radio show, host Mike Greenberg cast his vote for the Steelers quarterback.
“Ben Roethlisberger, in my opinion, takes a back seat to literally no one. I don’t think there is a better quarterback in the NFL then him right now,” Greenberg said.
Over the course of the Steelers last four games, Roethlisberger has played extremely well as he’s completed 98 of his 138 total pass attempts for 1,085 yards with 8 touchdown passes and just one interception. While he’s no longer considered a candidate by many major media analysts to win the MVP award this season, there’s still four weeks remaining in the regular season.
In addition to thinking Roethlisberger is currently the best quarterback in the NFL, Greenberg said Friday that he likes the Steelers’ chances of winning it all this season even though they enter their upcoming Sunday road game against the Buffalo Bills with a 7-5 record and are currently the No. 8 seed in the AFC.
“For whatever my opinion is worth, the pick I made before the season still feels good to me,” Greenberg said. “When they’re at their best, I believe Pittsburgh beats anybody. I don’t care where you’re playing, I don’t care what the weather is, I’ll take those three guys if they’re healthy. If Ben Roethlisberger, Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown are all standing upright when we get to the playoffs, I believe that’s the team that will come out and I think they would have last year if Brown didn’t get hurt.”
Let’s hope Greenberg is right.
