Little bit of news on the softer side for gameday. Typically, friends on opposing teams on weeks where they face off won’t even talk to each other. But Antonio Brown and Odell Beckham Jr. have bucked the norm and taken things a step further.
On AB’s snapchat, and latter his Twitter account, he posted a video of he and Beckham Jr. hanging out last night, a day before the Pittsburgh Steelers host the New York Giants.
And here’s another shot from Brown’s Snapchat.
It’s unclear exactly where their friendship formed but it’s existed for a number of years. We wrote back in June the pair trained in Florida during the summer along with a host of other top talents – Teddy Bridgewater and Jarvis Landry to name a few. Brown and Bridgewater are both Miami bred while OBJ and Landry are from Louisiana. Maybe that’s the connection.
And of course, Brown and Beckham Jr. are two of the top five wide receivers in the league so they’re part of a small fraternity. Both are having elite seasons. Brown leads the league with 82 receptions and 10 touchdowns while Beckham is top ten in catches, yards, and touchdowns.
