The Indianapolis Colts will host the Pittsburgh Steelers Thursday night and will likely do so without having starting quarterback Andrew Luck (concussion) under center.
Luck, as expected, failed to practice Tuesday as he’s still in concussion protocol because of a hit he suffered during Sunday’s win over the Tennessee Titans. Luck is not expected to play Thursday against the Steelers and if that winds up being the case, Scott Tolzien will start in his place.
Also not practicing for the Colts on Tuesday were cornerback Vontae Davis (ankle), safety Clayton Geathers (concussion) and cornerback Frankie Williams (not injury related). Davis and Geathers are both starters and it would be a huge blow to the Colts secondary should neither wind up playing Thursday night.
Practicing fully on Tuesday for the Colts were cornerback Rashaan Melvin (back), defensive tackle Arthur Jones (knee, ankle) and cornerback Patrick Robinson (groin).
