Season 7, Episode 29 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Monday show, David Todd and I start things off by discussing the left knee injury that Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger suffered Sunday in the team’s embarrassing road loss to the Miami Dolphins.
Head coach Mike Tomlin lost yet another game to a team with a sub-.500 record on Sunday so you know that gets discussed by us at the top of the show. We’ve heard this narrative for a while and while it’s easy to talk about, nobody seems to have solution for it.
There’s a lot to talk about when it comes to the play on both sides of the football Sunday so David and I start with what went wrong on defense before finally moving on to the offense.
We discuss the bad 3rd and 1 play-call late in the first half in addition to talking about the overall play of the Steelers cornerbacks, lack of pass rush, the poor tackling and more.
Was the offensive line play really that bad on Sunday? We really won’t know for sure until the all-22 is released but we discuss it nonetheless.
The Steelers will now turn to quarterback Landry Jones until Roethlisberger returns so we discuss the challenges he’ll face starting Sunday at home against the New England Patriots. We throw out a few hypotheticals related to that.
Several other questions related to injured players are discussed late in the show and we focus on why so many players cramped-up Sunday in Miami.
Should Roethlisberger been allowed back in the game after injuring his knee and more importantly, should he have been in on that final drive? We discuss that topic as well.
As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post.
