Pittsburgh Steelers lost 27-16 to the New England Patriots Sunday at Heinz Field and during the game wide receiver Antonio Brown suffered a left leg injury. After the game was over, head coach Mike Tomlin recapped his injury along with the health of the rest of the team.
“Not much to speak of from an injury standpoint,” Tomlin said. “We had a couple of guys go down with bumps and bruises, specifically, Antonio Brown had a quad but he was able to continue in spurts. The rest of it is just natural stuff that happens.”
Brown, who caught 7 passes against the Patriots for 106 yards, was injured in the second half and after quickly going to the locker room, he was able to return to game to play sporadically.
The Steelers will now have their bye week and it is well overdue. Hopefully they wuill get quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (knee), defensive end Cameron Heyward (hamstring), tackle Marcus Gilbert (ankle) and wide receiver Markus Wheaton (shoulder) all back for their Week 9 road game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Also inactive on Sunday because of injuries were safety Shamarko Thomas (groin), center/guard Cody Wallace (knee), and running back DeAngelo Williams (knee).
