The Pittsburgh Steelers final injury report has been released ahead of Sunday’s Week 6 road game against the Miami Dolphins and as expected, several players have been officially ruled out for that contest.
On Friday, the Steelers listed tackle Marcus Gilbert (ankle), defensive end Cameron Heyward (hamstring), safety Shamarko Thomas (groin), center/guard Cody Wallace (knee), wide receiver Markus Wheaton (shoulder), and linebacker Ryan Shazier (knee) as out.
With Heyward out, rookie Javon Hargrave and veteran Ricardo Mathews will both likely see playing time in place of him just as they did last week in the win over the New York Jets. With Shazier sidelined for a third consecutive game, Vince Williams will once again start in his place at inside linebacker.
With Marcus Gilbert out once again, Chris Hubbard will make his second straight start at right tackle.
Wide receiver Sammie Coates (finger) was limited on Friday and he ends the week listed as questionable. He’s still unsure if he’ll play Sunday against the Dolphins. With Wheaton out and Coates questionable, the Steelers might decide to promote wide receiver Cobi Hamilton from their practice squad on Saturday.
Cornerback Justin Gilbert (knee), safety Robert Golden (hamstring), fullback Roosevelt Nix (back) and wide receiver Eli Rogers (toe) are all expected to play Sunday against the Dolphins. Nix is looking to make his 2016 debut while Golden and Rogers are both looking to see their first action since going down injured in Week 3. Gilbert, on the other hand, is looking to return after missing the game against the Jets because of a knee injury.
Center Maurkice Pouncey (illness) was added to the Steelers injury report on Friday after being limited in practice because of an illness.
