The Pittsburgh Steelers will get running back Le’Veon Bell back this week now that he has served his three-game suspension and while a roster transaction is forthcoming in order to accommodate him, it doesn’t need to be made until later on in the week.
According to Burt Lauten, the Steelers Director of Communications, the team has until Thursday at 4 p.m. ET to make a move with Bell as they currently have a roster exemption until then.
Knowing that the Steelers really only need three true running backs on their 53-man roster moving forward, the team will likely need to part ways with either Fitzgerald Toussaint or Daryl Richardson on Thursday in order to make room for Bell.
In case you’re curious, Toussaint has played 15 offensive snaps so far this season while Richardson has played just 3. Additionally, Toussaint has played 19 special teams snaps in the Steelers first three games while Richardson hasn’t played any.
