Even though it won’t be considered a marquee matchup Monday night, the game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Chicago Bears will certainly be one that fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers might just want to tune in for.
The Eagles will host the Steelers next Sunday and even though Philadelphia has yet to play their Week 2 game, Pittsburgh opened as a 5.5-point road favorite.
Eagles rookie quarterback Carson Wentz will make his second career start Monday night against the Bears. In his NFL debut win in Week 1 over the Cleveland Browns, Wentz completed 22 of 37 pass attempts in the game for 278 yards and 2 touchdowns. While he was sacked twice by the Browns defense in that game, he didn’t throw an interception.
It will be interesting to see how Wentz fares Monday night against the Bears, who lost their 2016 regular season opener to the Houston Texans. In that game the Bears defense allowed Texans quarterback Brock Osweiler to complete 22 of his 35 pass attempts for 231 yards and 2 touchdowns while intercepting him just once.
in case you’re curious, it looks like the Monday night game will start with the Bears being favored by 3-points at home over the Eagles.
Are you ready for some more Week 2 football? I know I am as I look forward to seeing how the Eagles and Wentz play Monday night in Chicago.
